On this episode of The Weekend Take, I am joined by Cinematographer, Editor, Animator and Director of Video and Motion for Overit Media, Solomon Nero (www.nero-minded.com) as we look at the weekend that was at the box office.
Aside from "Alita: Battle Angel" taking the #1 spot, two new releases opened in the Top 10 in "Isn't it Romantic" and "Happy Death Day 2U", opening at numbers 3 and 5 respectively. "The Upside" continued it's strong run and we bid farewell to not one, but two superheroes, from our Top 10.
Solomon and I also look at the controversy surrounding the Academy of Motion Pictures decision (which was later overturned) to not include four categories in it's live broadcast for this year's Academy Awards, the backlash it endured from some of the top names in Hollywood, and the lasting scars it will leave on the industry.
All this and more on this week's episode of "The Weekend Take".
